Benjamin Wells currently serves as Professor of Computer Science and of Mathematics at the University of San Francisco, Faculty Scholar at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and Visiting Scholar in the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley. The last student of famed logician Alfred Tarski, Dr. Wells works on the boundaries between algebra, logic, and computing, often sitting on the cusp of the three disciplines. Additional areas of research include hypercomputation, computer graphics, and historical computers. For a decade, Dr. Wells has directed the Graduate Computer Science Program at the University of San Francisco, advising and coaching students on taking the GRE Computer Science exam, which he has himself taken three times as a faculty member. Among his other interests are hiking, cooking, and practical mysticism.
