The primary subject is chemistry. It goes over every single element and anything you would need to know about chemistry. I think that the book was pretty effective at covering it. But so much material to cover.read more
I have never read anything about chemistry or taken a class about it. I have taken science and biology classes. Learning chemistry is a lot harder and a lot more detailed than any other science.
I learned well reading the material and the only things i know about chemistry is what i read from the book so i wouldn't change anything.read more
general chemistry, it covered the material very well, we based all our tests out of what the book said therefore we had no issues with the book.
This book is a wealth of information in chemistry. It gives you lots of problems and examples to learn. Is easy to follow. Plenty of information and periodic table included. It even has the answers in the back to see if you worked a problem right.read more
It would have been nice to have a periodic table separated from the book and was able to dry erase on because that was very helpful to do when trying to learn about the periodic table.
If the illustrations were a bit bigger and if the chapters were shorter.read more
I liked the way the chapters were organized and it was very simple to go back and forth.

I will be using this book for Chemistry 1151 and Chemistry 1152 and I will also keep and use this book so I can have it handy for when I am in nursing school so I can refer to different things as a refresher, read more
A cheaper cost would make this book better because it is crazy how the international version cost way less than the United States version and they both have the same information.
Acid and base topic was the most helpful.I mostly did homework and read the examples of every topicread more
I did homework using the practice questions and preparing for exams
It made the entire chemistry class easy to follow. It has more than enough sample problems and answers to help you learn how to solve problems. It also has a lot of useful charts, tables, and photos to help you learn the material. The class I was in that required this book was intro to chemistry and it was my first chemistry class that I have ever taken. This book definitely helped me get through the class with ease.read more
I thought that the tables and charts they displayed with the material from each chapter were the most useful to me. It made it easier for me to understand what the book was explaining. It was also helpful because I didn't have to memorize everything all at once since all I needed to do was refer back to those tables. The amount of learning check problems they have in each chapter was very helpful as well. It helps show you what exactly to do, which formulas and such to use and what to look for with each chemistry problem.
