A native of Athy, Co Kildare, he joined the newspaper in 2004 and since then has covered Gaelic games, boxing, soccer, cricket and athletics. He started his journalism career with the Kildare Nationalist and also spent time working for the Labour Party before winning the Peter Ball Memorial Sports Writing Award and moving to his current post.
