Fleeting Opportunities Women Shipyard Workers in Portland and Vancouver During World War II and Reconversion

Summary: Interviews conducted by the Northwest Womens' History Project in conjunction with archival research analyzes the experience of women shipyard workers. It includes an in depth analysis of childcare centers in the area which were models of early childhood education but were closed down soon after the war ended.
