The chapters about evolution explained the concept really well. Realizing that evolution is a uniting principle of biology is probably the most useful thing I pulled away from using this textbook.read more
Its size and shape are really awkward to hold and carry, especially because it's paperback, but it makes the graphics easy to read. The actual text and study resources inside the book are good though.
The chapter on child development was the most useful. The quizzes at the end of each chapter helped me better understand the material.read more
I actually did not read this book. It was a friends book for a class but she told me it was very enticing!

The charts and visuals aids were all features of this book that were very useful to me.
Honestly, this book is perfect the way it is, I loved the way the authors used diagrams and annotations to create a visible imagination of how biological mechanisms actually function.read more
I used this book in a general biology class, the book is very useful. We went over topics such as the carbon and nitrogen cycle.
A cd that reads and has interactive quizzes that can be used on a computer.read more
There was nothing that wasn't helpful about this book besides the fact it was a little boring.
I learned the study of all living organisms and the role they play in the Circle of life! Great Text!!read more
I learned that there are many different types of Biology, that was an eyeoper for me and I loved learning about it. I also learned that each and everyone of us plays a role in our environment. That having been said, I would like to also say I now have a better understanding of how each lving organism works and their purpose!
