The basics in terms of forces, FBD's and trusses. Good examples, and many that have a lot of variation to them

The use of forces on structures like trusses and how they all add up to a net force of zero

Civil Engineering. It was extremely effective - I could read the book to study for tests and actually understand the materials.

The solutions to the problems given were basic answers. It would be helpful to show the steps to solve the problems so when stuck, you can figure it out.

I loved the very detailed examples and it was easy to understand the information.

This had great details that were simple to understand, not complex!

This book was used for my statics class. The class was highly physics based. Dealing with rigid bodies, equilibrium of two and three dimensional structures, and forces and their effects.

The layout could be more condensed or extra summarizations would be appreciated

The steps are simple and easy to follow, however, it is too simple to get started with a statics, meaning not enough information

The simple explanations was easy to understand, however, they are too simple

The most interesting thing that I learned about was zero force members. There are general guidelines for certain shapes in a truss that indicate a zero force member, meaning there are no forces on it even when loads are applied.

I learned an application of physics where the sum of the force equals zero. It would be most applicable to construction and engineering physical structures.
