Because of a piece of space debris, the Chai was forced to crash land on the planet it had been observing for seventy-five years. The Chai had been observing this planet because it had found signs that indicated a reincursion of the Drel out near this lonely part of a spiral arm of this galaxy. What it did not realize was that the Drel were already on the planet, and were well into their plans for subjugating it. During the crash it was forced to form a relationship with one of the planet’s inhabitants. This was very fortunate, for the Chai’s new host/partner was a very intelligent and unique individual! The inhabitants of that planet called themselves Humans, and the partnership between the Chai and its Human partner enabled millions to escape the planet. It also helped the Human form an effective resistance movement that set the Drel advance back by many years. This is the beginning of The Earth-Chai Saga, and the story of a relationship between three species that would last for more than a thousand years. It is also the story of the personal relationship between three alien beings.
