Granny thought when people got old they lost interest in thoughts of love, hate or jealousy. Now she realized, just because people are old, they haven’t lost all their senses, and she was finding it out firsthand. Granny thought the world of Adam and felt safe around him. Now someone was getting into her space. She was feeling empty and lonely, and she wanted that comfort feeling back. It’s either I fight for what I want, or lose it to someone else, she thought. She was painfully aware that the joy in her life had vanished, and she felt insecure, alone and perplexed. She wiped a fallen tear from her face and slipped down the corridor in silence—her shoulders slumped, heartbroken, and defeated after witnessing her beloved Adam sharing his love with another woman. Adam kept a secret from Granny, but he would tell her in time.
