I learned from this book that so many of the world's different cultures have impacted our own American society.

The most useful thing I learned from this book was the many passages and responses that covered the Holocaust.

This book is sated with such useful information! Takaki provides a fresh perspective of minorities in America and provides the reader with a new outlook on American history.

This book was of great aid in providing me with a different perspective and opinion about who America truly is

My course was on Multicultural History of America, this was the best book that could be used to teach the real stories of all the different immigrants who came to America looking for freedom, prosperity, and a place where they would be able to live in peace, without being persecuted, or killed. It was the true account of many cultures of people and their struggles and their troubles when they came to America and after they were here for a while. It covers many contributions of different ethnic peoples to this country.

It made me realize that the color of your skin means nothing, and that not one race is better or should have special treatment over another. I actually was angry with the White European people who discriminated so much and had such prejudicial treatment towards many ethnic immigrants.

Not really interesting. The book lacked cutural diversity to me.

I have never read any other book on this topic. It was very informative and based on multicutural history but lacked the read.
