Mark Lovatt began his career teaching science to Turkish students in a large 11-18 school in Istanbul. Following a further stint in a school in Izmir, he returned to England and was employed at Wolsingham Comprehensive School in Weardale, County Durham. In 1995 he was offered the post of KS3 Coordinator and Head of Physics at Cramlington Community High School in Northumberland.
