A native of Maine, Elizabeth Hobbs currently divides her time between Maine and North Carolina. (She is a member of both the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance and the North Carolina Writers' Network.) Her work has appeared in such publications as Bittersweet, Literary Arts (Oregonian), Written Arts (King County Arts Council), Poetry (Seattle Times), Camellia, and Psychopoetica (Hull, England). Her poetry cards have sold at various shops, and bookstores such as Powell's in Portland, Oregon. Hobbs has taught literature and creative writing in colleges, as well as in public and independent schools. She has served as Artist-in-Residence for the Manzanita, Oregon, Fine Arts Council, for the Creative Arts Program at Camp Hawthorne, Raymond, Maine, in an ongoing residency, and for the Fine Arts Center in Greenville, South Carolina. Elizabeth Hobbs has appeared on television in the Cactus Poets series and was a frequent reader in the Castalia series at the University of Washington under Nelson Bentley. She holds a BA cum laude degree from Bates College, an MA from the University of Washington, and membership in both Actor's Equity and Phi Beta Kappa.
