I would have liked to have seen more early American fiction examples in the book instead of just historical documents. There is a lot to learn from fiction, too.

The books is very informative. Although in the beginning where the Puritans came in and the Puritans had their writing movement, Cotton Mather was not mentioned. He is a very important key person in American history during the Puritan time. The book would need this as well a better interpretation of Thomas Paine's, "Common Sense."
