Theories based on the neurons of the brain. How the brain works in a psychological approach of treatment. How the brain responds to certain therapies. It also discussed how the brain reacts to certain situations that a person may occur and how the brain will shut off and on depending on the type of event that has happened. Cognitive therapy focuses primarily on the brain and why your brain may work different compared to someone else. Neurons are the main focus in cognitive theory. How hormones react to different situations that may or may stay with in a human. Different parts of the brain work differently in the effort to destroy traumatic events or make enlighten traumatic events that may have happened in life. The brain releases neurons that control emotions and hoe an individual reacts to certain situation. Cognitive therapy results in working through a patients brain not focusing on environmental factors why a person acts the way they act. Cognitive therapy plays an important role in psychology because it focuses on one thing at a time with the client to try and find the underlying issue of what is causing the client to be symptomatic.

How the brain works with mental issues. I liked the idea of exploring just the brain.

This book gives you lots of psychological experiments to refer to compared to other books, as well as thorough explanations of the studies. This helps in getting you more familiar with the concepts.

The class that required this book was - Cognition: Theories and Applications, which is a writing intensive class and a requirement for psychology majors. Students wrote lab reports regarding the experiments in the book.

The class was Cognitive Psych. We explored the history and theories of cognitive psychology. We included the structures of the brain and nervous system and all of the cognitive processes, such as perception, attention, and memory.

The book covered the subject of Cognitive Psychology very well. It explains several studies to highlight the various processes involved in cognition.

This book clearly explains concepts such as problem solving, perception, cognition, learning, remembering, etc. and it explains the brain function and mental processes behind each of these mental procedures. There are examples and critical thinking questions that help to expand the application of the techniques they teach.

The primary subject was probably cognition and the ways in which humans learn, read, remember, etcetera. The book did a great job of explaining those topics and more. I took the course with this book over a year ago and still can remember some examples and experiments explained in the book.

I was happy with the way the book is written. It is an interactive textbook.

It clearly gave me enough information to understand each topic being taught by my professor.

This was was very fun and interesting to read, the information is very complicated and at times hard to understand.

Something that might help this book become better is a more clearer way of saying thing so people can undestand.

The most interesting thing I learned in this book was different kinds of brain conditions that happen due to one part of the brain being damaged.

It was very informative, yet easy to understand. The material was covered thoroughly, but in an interesting way.

This book would be more interesting if the content was phrased in a manner that was more relatable to young adults. For example, perhaps providing a more abstract or story-telling technique to the book would make it more appealing to college students.

I'm not sure. Nearly all of the content matter was directly applicable to my memory and cognition class so I can't judge definitively which part, or parts, were least helpful. All contributed to some degree to my knowledge and learning of the subject of cognitive psychology.

The examples and interesting cognitive psychological facts were awesome! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the course it was assigned to companion.

The examples and illustrations were a great help in understanding complex information.

It really goes in depth with the mind and how research is advancing in that part of psychology.

I think learning about the future research that could be done is something that can be very useful to any psychology major today.

It was a cognitive psychology class. We pretty much covered what the book had for us, so I used the book a lot.

The text seemed too repetitive at times, I would include more examples from recent research in the field.
