Overall this was a great book. There weren't any unhelpful parts, per say, because I needed to know everything in the book.read more
I learned everything you need to know about little children before you become a teacher. It's how children grow at different stages of their life.
General childhood development fascinated me. It is interesting how there is a typical pattern for children to follow as they age and I watched my nephew go through many of the changes (his concept of reality/his play/etc).read more
The content was a lot easier to read and understand than many other books I've read on the subject.
For this book to have more information. I felt that there could have been more information packed into the book. I felt that it was almost summarized information. I learned alot from the text but felt that there could have been more.read more
I learned how children's brains grow and develop. I learned how as they get older they are growing new ways of thinking, and are discovering new things!
All parts were very helpful in my class. We used all the parts of this bookread more
The book was used for my child psychology class. Discussed and review the development of a child growth.
The most useful thing I learned from this book was the actual terminology and defintions. This book is began with infant development and ended with teens into young adulthood and covered everything someone who wants to teach or has a job with children/adolescents would need to know.read more
The features of this book that I found to be most useful to me was the subject index in the back of the book that allowed me to find the exact page of what terminology or subject that I was searching for. I also enjoyed the Review, Case Studies and Looking Back sections that is found at the end of each and every chapter.
