A rebellious reconnaissance expert is sent to Earth to find a tribe of lost Katarian scouts. As he passes through Earth's atmosphere, his ship's generator is damaged. Stranded and unable to find the tribe of scouts, he observes humankind for many years and concludes that he must destroy the entire planet. While working on a top secret military project called The Grid, Professor Trevor Cleveland discovers the government official he has been forced to work with is not human and is responsible for Earth's latest calamity. The professor draws out a plan for the world's salvation, but his sanity starts to crumble as world chaos worsens. Daniel Dodge, a young Navajo living on the reservation in northeastern Arizona, knows that he is different from other people, but he wants to do the right thing, make all the right decisions, and find out his purpose in life. He soon uncovers the truth of his twisted lineage. Armed with this knowledge, Daniel must discover his "special gift," and then terminate the one destroying the world. But Earth is getting hotter, the sky is burning, and people are dying.
