The Ancient Ones is the story of Edward Amelot, a renowned anthropologist, and his theory that thousands of years before Christ, travelers from the Far East came to Central America where they met the Olmec and Mayan Indians and shared their knowledge, skills, arts, and beliefs. When Edward’s beautiful daughter Cara does not hear from him, she seeks the help of Alek Roman, who was a covert operative for the US government. Thrown together, Alek and Cara become more than friends as they retrace Edward’s trek through the jungle where they encounter local criminals, an avaricious autocrat intent on the rebirth of the Third Reich, an advocate of the cause of the Mayan people, and apparitions of the Ancient Ones.
