Amaré is an artist living in London. At the death of her grandmother she begins to have strange visions of her past but as these memories surface she is confronted with deep terror. She turns to her friends for comfort and travels to Paris where she meets an American, Charlie, who is also an artist but in the field of computer generated virtual reality. Together they will uncover the dark mystery that tortures Amaré. Between London, the English countryside, Paris, and California, Amaré begins a strange initiatory journey towards discovering the truth behind her pain. She will be confronted with the wizardry of modern technology as well as the ancient mysticism and sacred teachings of the Cherokee tradition. As she winds her way through her dark and somber unconscious, she uncovers a violent and an unspeakably horrendous past. The story is about repressed trauma, and the courage to face one’s demons. It explores the relationship between the mind and the body, and centers on the journey of the soul towards the truth and the light. It is a testimony to individual redemption through love and self-forgiveness. Ultimately, Amaré is a novel about a woman’s journey towards wholeness, truth and love.
