Dr. Nolen-Hoeksema has won numerous awards for her research on depression, including the David Shakow Early Career Award from the American Psychology Association, the Leadership Award from the Committee on Women of the American Psychological Association, and Research Career Award from the National Institute of Mental Health. Recent books by Dr. Nolen-Hoeksema include Women Who Think Too Much (2003), Coping with Loss (1999), and Depression in Children and Adolescents (in press). Dr. Nolen-Hoeksema has taught Abnormal Psychology at the University of Michigan and at Stanford University, and has won multiple awards for her teaching. She currently carries on an active program of research on psychosocial factors in depression.
