These poems were mostly written during Carolyn’s menopausal years. By changing her lifestyle, she embraced this special event and incorporated it into her life. Carolyn hopes that all women will begin to recognize and honor this incredible, crazy time in their lives. Carolyn currently lives in Southwest Florida. A Romance with the Moon is a book containing a collection of poems relating with nature. They were written over a six-year time frame. During this time the author entered her midlife years and reviewed her life. Raised in Illinois, in a family connected to farming and living in Minnesota for many years, this Midwest woman understood the great outdoors. Therefore, she was not surprised to find herself connecting with nature, as she entered her tumultuous midlife. This certain interlude was a time to reflect upon her life and connect with our planet, our universe and her God. These poems are the end product of this reflective phase and the main reason behind publishing this book. Carolyn believes menopause is an incredible time for women. She encourages women to embrace this process as a normal, extraordinary gift from the universe—a powerful time to pause and spend on ourselves for ourselves.
