2010 is the year of Guac-blocked! Yes we can!
If your parents are anything like mine, they constantly try to keep up with current trends and lingo in an effort to remain “hip” and “with it”. Every year, the New Oxford American Dictionary emulates my parents and also tries to show the kids that it can be cool too.
At the end of every year, the NOAD chooses one slang word as its Word of the Year. 2009’s word was ‘unfriend’, as in, “To remove someone as a ‘friend’ on a social networking site such as Facebook”. ‘Unfriend’ beat out such words as ‘intexticated’ and ‘funemployed’ for the title.
I’m using this post to start my campaign for “Guac-blocked” to be the Word of the Year for 2010. “Guac-blocked” is the term for when you’re at a party and you really want to get some guacamole for your chips, but someone is in the way and you can’t get them to move.

Hit up Twitter and Facebook. Tell a friend. Get the word out. 2010 is the year of Guac-blocked. Yes we can! Yes we can!
Don’t have a copy of the New Oxford American Dictionary? Buy one from Valore Books. You’re all out of excuses now.

Awesome. Best post ever.
