AUTHOR

Weiss, Lorin Alan

SUMMARY

Lorin Weiss was born on July 9 in a small town in San Joaquin Valley of California called Turlock. As a young man, Weiss had a keen interest in history. In the late 1990s he sold the family business and started teaching. At this time, his son Mark was sent to Bosnia as part of the peacekeeping operation intended to end the fighting. Weiss became extremely interested in that brutal war when he found a group of friends from Tuzla, the northern capital of the Bosnian Republic, who took him to many of the killing zones. In 1998 the Modesto Bee published his account of the trip entitled Visit to a War Zone. After returning to the United States, Weiss completed his historical novel using his experiences in the Balkans. The story concerns two cousins who are policemen assigned to apprehend war criminals in the former Yugoslavia. Filip is a Tuzla Police detective and Jack a member of the International Police Task Force. They end up working with a Selim, a young Muslim policeman, and Samantha, a U.N. press secretary stationed in Sarajevo. They will team up to apprehend a war criminal that was often called the Serb Adolf. The story includes true to life flashbacks to the war years and includes some very tender and romantic scenes between Jack and Samantha and Selim and a Muslim girl. Weiss is currently living in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and has completed a second book entitled I Prefer the Company of Men.Weiss, Lorin Alan is the author of 'Tuzla' with ISBN 9781424151448 and ISBN 1424151449.
