Lieutenant Bob Penelli and his cousin, Jerry, have just completed a top secret research project for the United States Air Force. They have created the CX-3, a laser cannon that is one of the most powerful weapons in the world. The CX-3 is not just an ordinary instrument of destruction. Like Hal in 2001: A Space Odyssey, CX-3 is a sentient entity that communicates with Bob—and only Bob has the capability to access CX-3’s potential for destruction.
